Memories of Janet
I remember being invited to many of Janet's birthday parties. We would sometimes walk home from school together as I lived on the way home for her. She was a very nice girl.

I went to school with Janet's older sister. Janet was moving toward her teen years and I used to tease her a bit about being a "hotie." She used to turn red and get so embarrassed. I loved her innocence. I had made up my mind the next time I saw her I wouldn't tease her any more because maybe she really didn't like that ... I never got a chance. She was really a honey of a girl.

Janet (known to family as Janie) was the cousin closest to my age. We were very close and had many good times together. Its hard to believe that 57 years have past. I was very lucky to have survived the fire myself and just wish she had been as lucky.
    -- (Barbara Olechowski Page, Cousin)
Janie lived on the same city block as I did. I saw Janie's mother when she came home. I asked her about Janie and she said they didn't find her. That was one of the longest days of my life.
