My name is Victoria Mary Stong. I was born Victoria Grey Forbrich but my mother remarried & changed my name against my will(I was a child & had no choice). The Senior Pediatrician Dr. Joseph Forbrich who helped in saving many childrens lives that tragic time was my Grandfather(now deceased). I didn't get to know him very well due to my mother moving to New York & hiding me from my father & his family when I was 2 years old & my brother was 6 months old. My brother's name was also changed from Joseph Benedict Forbrich to Joseph Raymond Stong. Later, as an actor I advised him to use "Joe Forbrich" as his stage name when he asked me what name he should use. He's doing very well for himself as an actor. He's been in Movies with many famous people like Sidney Poitier, Keanu Reeves, James Spader, Taye Diggs & other great actors in "A Soldier's Play" & recently in "Law & Order" Criminal Intent in New York City. I myself am a Humanitarian,Civil Rights & Community Activist in the Media on & off, worked in Ground Zero/W.T.C. disaster site 9/11-11/10/01 helping Doctor's get Medical supplies by asking for them on all TV stations 9/12(the next day an 18 wheeler truck came with all I asked for!)& was put in charge of medical supplies for our makeshift emergency room, was support for Search & Rescue & filled out the manifests for Bldg.# 7 while doing various other jobs anyone needed done in my capacity. I recently Organized an Event for Katrina Survivors & I do Clerical work otherwise. I managed to make it my business to travel to see My Grandfather Dr. Joseph Forbrich two times. This is obviously not nearly enough. So...........I hope you all will contact me & tell me anything you know of my Grandfather & his work at St. Anne's. I loved him so much & feel so cheated of getting to know him & spending quality time with him & his side of the family. I just lost my dad 12/04 & didn't have much time with him either. My mother wouldn't let me see his side of the family all my life except 2 times when I lived home. But I do know that he was famous for making a discovery in medicine transfusing bluebabies(saving drug-addicted babies)& he was on the covers of Life & Time magazine's in the late 40's or early 50's. May God bless you all & your families. I'm so sorry about all the horrible things that happened & the pain you all went through one way or another as a result of that fire on 12/1/58. Just know that the blessed Nun's & all those precious children are angels watching over you all. They don't want you all to be sad. God does things for reasons we don't understand sometimes. We just need to have faith & know that he loves us.
