Im 64yrs old, I was a sophmore at Delasalle H.S. when that tragdy happened.God rest Their Souls.I was then ,and still now a big fire department fan, My uncles and later cousings were all firemen,i was into the fire insurence patrol co.s Any way,This IsWhat I always thought... 2or 3 kids, 8th graders were smoking down stairs, they heard someone comeing they tossed their sigs in container under stairwell went back to their room or rooms, stayed 15 minutes later smoke and fire nuns said stay put and pray,they were to scared to say anything,perished with the others..Ireally beleave that. g.c.
