My grandfather and Uncles lived on CHicago and Lawndale, I spent every summer there, I went to catholic school in Melrose Park. Family name Cavalier, when I spent every summer I married Vince Geraldi in 1969, his family lived on Central Park Ave. Many friends I had there and still do, one good friend was Carl Tamborino, he lost his sister and then died years later of Leukemia, great guy and is missed.
BTW I am in the fire service for 25 years and Cowan who wrote the book "To Sleep with the Angels" was arrested for Arson on a church, broke my heart that he did that as he was a firefighter also. I also read Michelle McBrides book, she has also passed. Very sad but will linger with all of us from that neighborhood forever.
