About me: |
On December 1, 1958 I was an 8th grade student at Our Lady of the Assumption Cathol School here in Houston, Texas. I remember the stagering news account of the OLA school fire as if it were yesterday. We had prayers and a special Mass the next morning before classes. For some reason the horror of what happened that day has stuck in my mind all these many years. And all these many years I have prayed for those who died thier parents and family and for those who survived knowing, as I grew older the emotional and physical pain they would live with forever. The OLA tragedy is not only a tragedy for the City of Chicago, but for the entire country.
