About me: When I went to live at Angel Guardian Orphanage. (run by the nuns of Poor Handmaidens of Jesus Christ) I thought their obsessions with fire drills were insane. they use to get so angry at me because I really took my time getting out of the class room and the cottage I was assigned too (cottage 46). Finally Sister Edith told me about the fire at your school. I will honestly say being a child it really didn't register but I didn't want to see that look on Sister Edith face so, I always did as I was told during the fire drill and I never took my time either. When I left Angel Guardian Orphanage; I went to live in a foster home. All my school teacher were always impress by my abilities to move fast and made sure all the smaller kids (in my class room) were up front during our fire drills leaving the school. It wasn't until after I joined the service I learn the story that Sister Edith told me was true. I am so glad it is a part of the internet. I cried this year when I look on the internet for the 50th Anniversary. I felt so stupid because I wasn't born then and didn't I know anyone from this fire. I just remember Sister Edith face (as if it was the day she told me the story about "Our lady of Angels fire"). She had a look in her eyes and on her face that I realize what it finally was. It was of a women who truly morn someone dear to her and the lost of children lives that no one who believes in God will never want to see again. God Bless All The Survivors of "Our Lady of Angels Fire"
