Hi, my is Milicent Butler(nee Bankhead)and I am 52yrs old. Don't why but offen I remember being in the hospital quite ill(will try to find out the hospital's name).There was a little boy who the nurses would bring to come and visit me, I can remember him bandaged in some places and scared from burns. I was the only black child in the hospital and under and oyxgen tent most of the time. The only people I can remember are the little boy and a black lady who mopped floors and cleaned at the hospital(my father, John Bankhead and mother,Carnis allow me with the doctor's ok to get my hair braided by the cleaning lady and talk with the little boy who nurses would bring to visit. (I guess we were the only children in that ward). Who said children don't remember? I was born on March 26, 1957. Just wanted to see if I could find out who he was and say thank you and God bless! This memory has help me in trouble times, just to remember that there was someone who thought about alittle black girl and kept her company in such a big scary world.
