I am a product of Catholic schools for 12 years. I was 3 years old when this fire occurred. My older brother who was 10 years old at the time did not come home after school & my mother became so frantic, she left me with my 5 year old brother with a neighbor while she went out looking for him. She was listening to Serena Notara, an italian radio broadcaster who was also crying while reporting the school fire. Once my mother found my brother she would not let him attend school for a few days after that because she was afraid he would not come home just like the victims of OLA.
