My father Timothy J. Loftus was on squad 10, only on the department for 2 years. He never talked much about the fire, other than saying he will never ever forget it and the bodies he had to carry out. My mother said when he came home from station he kissed his two sons and told them he loved them. My father was never too strict w/ my brothers as he remembered the fire so well. A fellow fireman we talked to at the fire academy asked my dad if he recalls any info. from the fire; my dad responded everything, he then answered many questions he asked. My father retired as a Captain of Truck 52. He lived many years after that and was always so PROUD to be a fireman.
