I was 8 years old and attended OLA for catechism. I was present at the fire watching from the outside with my mother. We are in one of the photos taken by the Tribune. I lost my two best friends in the fire, Kathleen Carr and Diane Karwicki, which I have never forgotten. The event altered my entire life and I have written stories for various groups and college regarding my experience. I am a speaker/trainer and often use my experience as the reason why it is important that we take time to care about the ones we loved. I am grateful that I found this site.
