Classroom: 1st grade room?
Teacher: Sister Mary ?
About me: I was in the first grade at the time of the fire. I cann't remember the class room or my teachers name. What I do remember was that it was the end of the school day and we were having a birthday party for some girl. we were finished eating some treats and had put on our coats, waiting for the dismissal bell when instead the fire alarm rang. we all filed out of our class room orderly. I remember our room was close to the door. When we left the school I looked back and could see whifs of smoke comming out of the second floor windows. We all ended up in different houses in the neighborhood. I was very young and very confused as to what was going on. I never really understood what had actually happened untill I read "To Sleep with the Angels". My sister was in the fifth grade. Her name was Phyllis. She was in Miss Caughlin's class. We never talked about the fire. Unfortunately she died of cancer when she was 36 years old.I would liked to talk to her about her experience after reading the book. If anyone knows what classroom I was in or my teacher's name E-mail me at ah_clem1@hotmail.com
