About me: I was in the 4 th grade, on Dec 1, 1958. I was in a 3rd. & 4th grade split class, on the first floor of the North wing. There were about 14, or 15, of us 4th graders in that classroom. On that Monday morning of Dec 1st, we was told by our Teacher, (we had a Lady substitute Teacher) that we 4th graders would be moving to the other 4th grade classes. Half of us would be moving to the 4th grade class up stair's to room 210, and the other's would be moved to the other 4th grade class, on the first floor of the south wing. I was hoping to be one of them going up stair's to room 210, because all my friends were in that classroom. The move was going to take place one week later, on Monday. After lunch, that afteernoon the Teacher(I cannot remember her name) gave me the paper's with the name's of the student's who were getting moved to room 210, she told me to take these paper's up stair's to Sister Mary Seraphica, I was delited to do so. As I began to walk I just had to see if my name was on that list ? It was ! and I got so excited & happy, and that made my day. When I got to Sister Mary Seraphica's classroom I was so happy that I wanted to stay there right there and then. Sister read the paper's, wrote another note for me to take back to the Teacher, then Sister said to me, it look's like you will be one of my student's next Monday, I said yes Sister, with a great big smile on my face. Then I went back down stair's to my classroom, (the stair's that would later be in flames) I was so happy, my best friend's Connie & Susan were in that classroom, and we would be toghther. I kept thinking to my self this is too good to be true. Later that afternoon, I started getting these strange feeling's, that I would not be going up to that classroom after all, I had this strange feeling that something bad was going to happen ? I even said to my self why would something bad happen ? I just brushed it off as too much excitement. But when the fire alarm rang, another strange feeling came over me, I just knew that something was not right. My classroom was right under room 209, little did I realize, that all those Children up stair's were fighting for their life's.
