I was born in March of 1960 in Brighton Park. For some reason that I cannot explain, the OLA fire has haunted me ever since I've been a little girl. Something hauntingly mysterious that I cannot explain. When I read the two books about the fire (To Sleep With....and The Fire That Would Not...) my obsession and hauntingly erie feeling had only become more prominent. I actually wrote a letter to Michelle McBride some years back, but never mailed it. Now she's gone and feel like I should have mailed that letter -- it was a kudos to her courage. I still have the letter..... On this day, the day after the 45 OLA anniversary, I decided to visit this website - actually felt compelled. My heart, so deeply, goes out to all the survivors of this horrible tradegy and the family members of the children who perished. May God be with all of you and please know that someone - totally unrelated to this event - has been praying for you all since she's been a child.
