I was 7 years old at the time of the fire. As many others, I was absent that day - sick. I don't remember anything specific of the fire, but my mother always spoke of it. We moved about a year later to Norridge. There was a family close by that also lost two children. After seeing the WTTW special, I purchased the book "To Sleep With the Angels" and finally understood the tragedy. In mentioning the book to others, I find that there are many people that lost relatives in the fire. Amazing, after all these years, that the fire is so well known and affecting lives in all suburbs of Illinois! I wanted to keep in touch. Would like to attend a reunion when there is one closer in the northwestern suburbs.
