About me: |
I was born and raised in Rockford Il. I attented a catholic school like o.l.a and was in 5th grade at the time of the o.l.a. fire. I remember learning about the fire from t.v and the school admiistration. I feel I always wanted to know more about it; and about 3 years ago I ran across the book "To sleep with the angels." Like the authors I became obsessed to find out more about the tradgy. I was a police and fire 911 dispatcher for 17 yrs in Rockford,Il. I was led to Father McNallas of St.Grabiel parish to learn alot more about the fire. I was also able to attend the memorial mass last December at Holy Family in Chicago. I arrived early and was able to meet some of the survivors and firemen who fought the fire. I am not a professional historian but I guess I am sort of a amateur historian. I would like to be active in any way I can with your organization. I have had some of the petitions filled out and sent them in. I am truly sorry that such a terible thing happened.I feel for the survivors, firemen and anyone who was connected. God Bless you always Bob Nelson
