About me: |
I was 14 years old when my mother died in November of 1958. I was living in a small community of 2,000 in the state of Washington when my life was turned upside down. I was taken from everything I knew and loved and moved to the Big City... Chicago. My first full day there was on December 1st 1958. I will never forget the news stories and pictures and the grief I felt for you, and the prayers I said on your behalf.
I have thought of you often throughout the years and wondered how you have been. Thank you for sharing your experiences with the rest of us through your web site.
I have to say, I laughed when I saw that Dick Biondi will be hosting your dinner in January. I can still visualize sitting at the kitchen table, my hair in rollers, talking on the phone and doing homework while he wailed "On top of a Pizza..."
Life has had many twists since then. I am now founder and president of the Children's Memorial and Gardens, a non-profit organization based in Bradenton, Florida (although we have representation in 9 states and the numbers are growing). I invite you to visit our site and consider joinging us. Our vision is to link all memorial/gardens dedicated children forming a national memorial in their honor. I invite you to visit our web site at www.childrensmemorialandgarden.org to learn more about us.
May God fill your day with unexpected blessings.
