About me: |
I'm a Canadian who happens to consider Chicago my favourite American city. Upon doing research for my next trip to the Windy City I came upon this heartbreaking, yet fascinating website.
While I was not involved in the OLA fire in any way, I am a survivor of a tragedy suffered in my childhood in the 50s - a time where no grief counseling was offered and I was never encouraged to talk about the event that shaped my entire life. Even now, my parents find my interest in the "event" morbid, not understanding that I have so many unresolved feelings and questions. Not that I blame them; they're from the "put it out of your mind" generation.
Reading your stories, memories and posts leads me to believe I may have stumbled upon some kindred spirits. :)
